General Regalia Guide

Everybody who receives an award at Graduation needs to wear an academic gown.

There are four types to choose from:

• Bachelor gowns are worn by bachelor degree, diploma, and certificate recipients. They are black Cambridge bachelor style, and have an open sleeve.
• Master gowns are worn by master degree recipients. They are also black, Cambridge master style, and have a closed or pocket sleeve.
• PhD Master gowns are worn by recipients of PhD,  They are identical to master gowns except that they are worn with the attached hood/stole facings
• Doctoral  gowns are worn by recipients of DoctBusAdmin, Doct Education , and Doctor Clinical Psychology degrees. They are identical to master gowns except that they have red facings
• Higher doctorate recipients wear all-scarlet gowns, styled the same as master gowns.

Each tertiary institute has slightly different rules regarding what to wear though as a general rule the following table works well.

Higher Doctoral Degree	Scarlet Gown, Master Hood, Bonnet
