Graduate and Postgraduate Diploma Gown Orders

You have two options in relation to the regalia you wear and the choice is yours. The rule is that you only wear the regalia for one qualification as you cross the stage.

• You can wear a Gown, Trencher and Massey Stole to graduate with the PGDip.
• You can wear a Gown, Trencher and Hood to recognise your previous degree. We can get this for you.

You can hire both the Stole and Hood from us if you want to wear both for photographs and the street procession. This leads to an order of four items, using the ‘Previous Qualification’ button under the Post Graduate Diploma heading on our website.

If you want both, or the hood for your previous qualification, there is one step we ask you to do as you place your order on our website - www.masseygowns.org.nz. On the third page where you enter your name and details, there is a heading on the left hand side that says “Add a Message”. Can you please put in there what you want to do and the details of your previous qualification and where it was from so we pick up on that?

Your degree may not show on the hood drop-down list so just select Massey – BA and we will pick up your qualification from the comments you put in the ‘Add a Message’ and process it from there.

Please note diplomats can hire both the Massey hood of their prior degree and the stole for photos. But you cannot wear both the hood and the stole together on stage.

Hoods from foreign Universities are not usually available from Academic Dress Hire Palmerston North. If you do have a foreign degree and now are receiving a Diploma, order a Bachelor Gown, Massey Diploma Stole and a Trencher.
