Tudor Bonnets

Doctoral Bonnet (or Tudor Bonnet)

Bonnets are worn by all doctors.
They are soft-topped and made of black velvet.
They have a circular brim and are trimmed with black cords and tassels.
The Bonnet should sit comfortably with the circular brim sitting horizontally straight across.
The black tassel is worn to the left.

Trenchers

These are the traditional mortarboards or "Caps" worn by bachelors and masters.
These are stiff shaped hats with a flat board on the top and a tassel.
These hats are black, with a black tassel. The tassel may hang to either side.
These hats should be worn with the top board horizontal and the smaller peak of the cap to the front.
The Trencher should sit comfortably so that it does not slip but feels safe when worn.
