Master Hood

Master Hoods are worn by recipients of Master degrees. They are the shape of a Cambridge BA hood.

• Masters hoods do not have any trim inside the mouth of the hood. This indicates the status of the degree as the Bachelors have a fur trim and the Bachelor Honours hoods have a white ribbon trim.
• The lining colour indicates the area of study

• These are the traditional mortarboards or "Caps" worn by bachelors and masters.
• These are stiff shaped hats with a flat board on the top and a tassel. 
• These hats are black, with a black tassel. The tassel may hang to either side.
• These hats should be worn with the top board horizontal and the smaller peak of the cap to the front.
• The Trencher should sit comfortably so that it does not slip but feels safe when worn.

• Please measure your head circumference just above your eyebrows and straight round the back.
• Use a piece of string and a ruler if you do not have a measuring tape.
